With partnership and financial support from US Embassy First Step is launching a new project. The project aims to promote integration of children and youth with disabilities into the society. Within the framework of the project we plan to implement various events in the course of 11 months in which beneficiaries of the First Step as well as pupils of public/private schools will participate. The events will be implemented at the day care center of First Step and at schools and entertainment centers as well, and will cover various activities such as: sporting, joint theatre shows and painting, exhibitions, celebrations, etc. There will also be volunteer students involved. Some time prior to the events specialists of First Step will hold thematic meetings with school children, teachers and students in order to raise their awareness and talk about a disability field, peculiarities of speech, rights of people with disabilities, etc.
The implementation will have many positive and essential outcomes, as on the one hand, the awareness of school children, teachers and students of five public and private schools will have been raised and on the other hand, joint activities will lay the foundation for the idea of proper integration, positive cohabitation and joint playing.
We believe that such tiny victories can change our universe for better and that’s why we don’t stop trying to take a step, even a tiny one, forward to achieve our final goal.
